Medium size regional museum with world-class exhibitions most of the time. Blockbuster Toulouse-Lautrec show thru January 7.

Great little museum that has a little of everything. Parking is in front of the museum, staff is polite and friendly, and no huge crowds like the ones in the city. Easy to get to. I highly recommend this place . A true Gem!

We drove by the Bruce Museum on our way home from Connecticut and decided to stop by because of the high ratings. We were a little disappointed to find out the museum was actually pretty tiny. There is a permanent section with some older geological and wildlife exhibits. The main section has a rotating exhibit. Overall we just felt it wasn't worth the cost of admission.

Nice compact museum. Visit on Tuesdays for free admission. They also sponsor two Art & Craft fairs a year which are definitely worth a visit. FREE admission on Tuesdays.

4.5 stars. I enjoyed everything about it, but, like everywhere in Fairfield County, it is somewhat overpriced. It's not a big museum at all, and the permanent art collection on display is pretty small, but I did really like the three special exhibitions. The first was a series of lovely watercolors of the American Impressionism School, the second was a group of fun (and unusual) animal lithographs by Andy Warhol, and the third, my favorite, was twenty photos from a contest involving microscopic photography, something I'd never seen before. Amazing! The staff were helpful and polite, parking is a cinch, and the building is handsome, even nicely situated. But ten dollars is a little high for a small museum you can see in an hour. Probably 6 or 7 would be right. But I realize many art museums are in a crunch, and most are getting pretty pricey. Unfortunately, this is counterproductive to gaining a wider audience.
